"My practice is very much influenced by listening to what my client's body is saying and from there I respond accordingly. I tend to have a more intuitive approach than scientific, although I have the training in and utilize both. My clients often thank me for being mindful and present, knowing what their body needs that specific day and for tailoring each massage to those needs. I do not have a blanket treatment, I pay attention and it's a conversation, and rarely are two conversations ever the same."

Summer received her training at the Helma Institue for Massage Therapy and the Hudson Valley School of Massage Therapy. She has been massaging since 2005 in many different venues; including the Mohonk Mountain House Spa, Lonstein Chiropractic, Hudson Valley Body Works, etc., and teaching at the local massage school. Additionally, she trained with Cheryl Chapman, LMT, RN in cancer and terminal illness massage.

Nia   is a non-impact physical conditioning program based on the premise that movement is a pathway for self-discovery and personal transformation. Blending aspects of Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts, Nia provides a variety of movement dynamics to create an experience that involves your whole body, as well as your spirit. The stillness and concentration of Tai Chi, the dynamic poses of Yoga, the explosive power of Tae Kwon Do, and the grace and spontaneity of Modern and Ethnic dance make it possible to create a whole new sense of well-being! The use of eclectic, rich music, guided imagery, powerful kinesthetic cues, and heart-felt joy add to the full experience of a Nia class. Beyond the fun of Nia, there is a more profound experience that comes from learning about, and moving in accord with, The Body's Way. Nia is typically done barefoot. However, students can also wear dance shoes if their body prefers the support. Nia is done wearing comfortable, breathable clothing that's as dressed-up or dressed-down as you like.
